M’sanctuary in Tokyo

Although not disempowering, I began to feel exhaustion over the overwhelming infinite choices Japan has to offer. The more choices we have the better, right? Too many options, however, create anxiety and can leave one less satisfied. Oh dear! Space and time just collapsed.

The most recent one was a beauty dilemma: K-Palette Real Lasting 1 Day Tattoo Liquid Liner 24hr vs Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner

A shallow one, I know. Sue me! K-Palette won coz er er English packaging *winks

Just imagine how time consuming it would take for me to deal with the serious ones.

So what can I do about it?
Embrace this void in the making. Fix it before it becomes a nasty conundrum.

Taking action
Over-thinking is a dead giveaway of an upcoming void. I’ve been battling it since forever. And I won’t let it compromise my 365 days in Japan. NEVER. It’s a good thing that I know exactly the panacea to this pariah- churchin’ (slang for going to church). Religiosity has always been a contentious topic. Thus, you may or you may not continue reading this entry.

Last July 2, I started my Sunday 8 o’clock habit.

Left Warabi at this time

About to hop on my subway ride from Ueno to Roppongi. Train was again on time. I can’t complain. No time for daydreaming though.

Arrived at Roppongi Station. Once again, on time. Ah, Japan. You know I abhor delays.

The best exit to take for any lady who hates walking in the rain

So yeah. From exit 4b, it would take a 154cm tall woman 612 steps or 6 minutes to get there on foot.

Welcome to Franciscan Chapel Center! Tagged as Tokyo’s only English-language Roman Catholic parish.

Some refreshments for the Saitama girl who skipped her breakfast

15 minutes before the mass started. Church isn’t that full yet.

Ate Jema, Ate Fina, Ate Delia, and Ate Gemma. Yes, the choir members and lectors are all filipinos. Because you are yet to meet a filipino who can’t sing. I’m bluffing. You have to meet me then

Where my heart belongs. Finally, home. Can't wait to attend mass here with another mestiza ???

2 out of the 20 new parishioners welcomed that Sunday

And that’s Kathleen with an empowered spirit. Starved soul no more

This reset has surely brought me back to my element. The less mayhem I have in my head, the better teacher you’ll have in Ueno. Trust me on this. I’m kinder when I don’t overthink.

Trivia: I acquired much of my vocabulary from the Bible. Take that, Shakespeare.

Here’s my takeaway in this post: Focus on what nourishes you, not depletes you.

Why do you think your SUE instructors always highlight your Good Points?
